Christmas Breaks and New Year Breaks in Devon
Your Christmas & New Year breaks are very important to us and with this in mind we have put together a special Devon Christmas Break that we hope you will feel is simply magical ! At Christmas time we want Two Bridges Hotel to be your escape from the everyday, where life takes on a sense of ease, comfort and luxury. Where better to celebrate than the heart of Dartmoor National Park in glorious Devon.The food is sumptuous with ample local produce from Devon and Cornwall , fantastic festive entertainment which we have selected with great care to include the very popular Boxing Night Murder Mystery...can you solve the Murder ? The Hotel looks wonderful at Christmas time, decorated with huge Christmas trees and an abundance of holly & mistletoe, garlands around the open log fires, large copper pots of chestnuts ready for you to roast. Chef will be making his rather potent spicy Mulled Wine, the Christmas cake is already soaking up the contents of the bar .

Christmas Eve
Arrive in good time and relax after your journey to Devon in front of the blazing log fires with one of our delicious Devon Cream teas served from 3-5pm. Meet your fellow guests also on The Christmas Break over cocktails and canapés. Our five course Christmas Eve candlelit dinner is followed by entertainment in the lounge. Enjoy the Hotel ambience, lounges festively decorated and copper pots of unlimited chestnuts to roast on the log fires. If any guests would like to celebrate Christmas Midnight Mass in Tavistock or another beautiful Moorland church, we provide mulled wine and mince pies on your return

Christmas Day
Hopefully an overnight visit from Santa has bought you a present! Start Christmas Day with a hearty Dartmoor breakfast followed perhaps by a walk, Two Bridges is set within its own 60 acres of stunning grounds with the famous Whistman's Wood on our doorstep. Prepare yourself for the centrepiece of the day, our wonderful Christmas Day Lunch. Enjoy the afternoon infront of the fires with a board game and The Queens speech. Dinner is a sumptuous buffet before the fun Two Bridges Hotel short mat bowls competition!

Boxing Day
A hearty Dartmoor Breakfast starts a day spent at your leisure ! A guided walk led by a Dartmoor Ranger will be leaving The Hotel at 11.30am which is a great chance to learn about the history and legends of Dartmoor National Park The Dartmoor Hawker will be giving a display of his beautiful birds and a chance to fly one yourself. Other Christmas activities we can reccommend but not included in your Christmas Break:-

  • Golf at the stunning Tavistock Golf Course
  • A visit to Plymouth, a stroll around Plymouth Hoe or a Pantomine at The Theatre Royale
  • Exlore more of Dartmoor, discover the Moorland Vilages, quaint pubs for lunch and craft centres

Whatever you do during the day make sure you are back in time for The Christmas Boxing Night Murder Mystery Dinner, ideal for those budding Sherlock's! 4 course dinner with full entertainment by a team of professional actors and the post mortem and prizes over coffee.

December 27th Bank Holiday
A hearty Dartmoor Breakfast before a fond farewell.. or why not stay an additional night ..

New Year's Eve Break 2011/12

New Year’s Eve
Check in from 2pm and explore the grounds or simply relax in comfort in front of the open log fires with a good book before you prepare for a cocktail reception with your fellow guests. A magnificent Gala Dinner and Dance is the centrepiece of the day before waiting for the Big Ben count down, Auld Lang Syne and Champagne for all.

New Year's Day
Enjoy a leisurely Dartmoor Breakfast, then why not start the New Year with a bang and join the clay pigeon shooting, suitable for all abilities. The shoot takes place within our grounds and the views are breathtaking. We have also arranged for a Guided Walk on Dartmoor with one of the Dartmoor Rangers or visit Plymouth, just a short drive away for a coastal walk or shopping in the sales. Alternatively tackle the picturesque and challenging Tavistock Golf Course. Whatever you do, work up an appetite for the evening’s sumptuous 4 course Dinner in our AA Red Rosette Restaurant.
