Celebrate Christmas at the Home of the Pudding Club in its 25th Anniversary Year

Christmas 2010

Thursday 23rd December
Welcome to Three Ways House and your Christmas Break. Relax and settle into your room and then join us by the log fires in the lounges and bar for the beginning of the Divine chocoholic experience. We will start with tea, coffee - and hot chocolate as you search for the answers in the chocolate quiz - with a chocolate prize of course. Chef will then share some of his secrets at the chocolate demonstration and tasting.

Later, at dinner the chocolate theme continues. Have you ever tried Duck Breast with a dark but subtle chocolate sauce or Plaice with delicate white chocolate - they are both delicious. Chef’s menu will include other dishes too to tempt everyone’s taste buds.

Christmas Eve
Today is your last chance to find that missing present at the shops in Cheltenham or Stratford but if you have had enough retail therapy then why not head for the hills for a good walk? Bring your boots and flasks and we will provide the maps and hot tea. If you are arriving today join us for tea and homemade cakes this afternoon.

Tonight there will be Chilled Champagne, Tempting Canapes and Christmas Carols and a chance to meet all of the other Christmas guests before dinner in the Restaurant when you will be entertained by the sounds of our pianist at the baby grand...

Christmas Day At Three Ways House
Christmas Day starts with a tempting Continental buffet breakfast featuring French pastries, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, cheeses, juices, croissants and much more.

Perhaps you would like to attend the morning service at nearby St Lawrence Church. Later this morning we are hoping for a special visitor who will be bringing presents for good boys and girls-of every age! Before lunch you could build up your appetite with an amble around the village or a country walk. We can help you with directions and fill your flasks. Prefer a later lunch? No problem. Christmas Lunch is a highlight of the day. Our team of chefs will be roasting Ribs of Hereford Beef and local Free Range Bronze Turkeys and of course preparing the Pudding Club’s Christmas Pudding.

Afterwards relax by the fire, the clink of cups may tell you it is time for Tea and Christmas Cake. We are always delighted that guests are still peckish on Christmas night and there will be a Buffet Supper with a tempting selection of hot and cold dishes. Tonight you will be entertained by the talent of our classical guitarist Rod Willmot.

Boxing Day
After breakfast today we intend to take you for a tour of the area including a stroll through the “Jewel of the North Cotswolds” Chipping Campden when our guide will show you the town’s hidden secrets. You will return to Three Ways House in time for a buffet lunch. Afterwards a short journey to Cheltenham, Boxing Day horse racing or the prettiness of the Slaughters may tempt you. Alternatively enjoy the Traditional Treasure Hunt around the village.

Dinner tonight features some of the Traditional Puddings that have made us famous for the last 25 years, including Sussex Pond - filled with whole lemons, St. Nicholas Pudding and an intense and delicious Very Chocolate Pudding. This is a lighthearted evening with rules, history and fun followed by our traditional Quiz of the Year to test you memory.

Monday 27th December
As tomorrow is another Bank Holiday there should be no rush to get home. Why not stay tonight and join in this evening’s very special event and be part of the Pudding Club’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations.

Tonight there will be a real festival of food and fun as dinner features dishes from 1985 to show that there were good things to eat in the 80’s after all. Chef and his team have dug out their old recipe books and searched their memories to create a menu that includes Steak Diane, Chicken Kiev, Duck a L’Orange, Baked Alaska and other favourites from that era but cooked with more expertise than they were back then! The wine list will feature Liebfraumilch of course.

After dinner we invite you to take part in a fun Christmas Casino –learn how to play roulette at a full size table –without really gambling. Of course there will be a prize for the most successful guest tonight. Come on - place your bets!

Which room? You can stay in a 4 poster almost anywhere but only Three Ways House has Pudding rooms! Each is specially designed, quirky, unique and very comfortable. Superior rooms are situated in the original part of the house, individually furnished and more spacious – perhaps with a Jacuzzi or a church view – and little luxuries like Molton Brown toiletries, towelling robes, LCD TV’s and Bose CD players. Best rooms are simply that; our delightful best rooms are all of that and more!
