A Season of Celebration 2011-2012
Intimate and cosy, Christmas and New Year’s House Parties at the Old Swan and Minster Mill will be a reminder of days gone by in this most quintessentially of English settings. Escape the yuletide mayhem and relax and recharge with friends and family.

Christmas Eve Saturday 24 December
Arrive at leisure and settle into your charming room followed by a traditional Afternoon Tea in the Old Swan Snug or Minster Mill Minstrels Gallery. Early evening, join old and new friends for Champagne and canapés followed by a delicious dinner in the Big Dining Room. You are invited to take a candlelit walk to attend Midnight Mass at the local parish Church of St Kenelm. Returning afterwards to hot chocolate and mince pies by the roaring log fires.

Christmas Day Sunday 25 December
A blissful day of celebration. Open surprise presents after a legendary Cotswolds Breakfast served with Bucks Fizz to get the day off to a cracking start before Father Christmas arrives to the delight of young and old alike. Midday is marked with a Champagne reception followed by a traditional festive five course Christmas lunch, the highlight of the day. Take a stroll around the gardens or a riverside walk and enjoy some outdoor activities. Listen to the Queen's Speech or gather in the Minstrels Gallery to play cards or boardgames later over tea. In the evening, a medieval buffet will be served featuring the best local produce.

Boxing Day Monday 26 December
After a hearty English breakfast, you may wish to join the Old Minster Treasure Hunt or alternatively join the bargain hunters for the first day of sales at Bicester Shopping village for designer sales at the Outlet Mall. Or an afternoon trip to the pantomime at Oxford Playhouse (booking essential at time of reservation). In the evening, complete your Cotswold’s Christmas with a farewell dinner and dance.

Tuesday 27 December
Depart at leisure after a full breakfast stealing memories to last a lifetime

Tariff The tariffs for both Christmas and New Year House Parties are fully inclusive of all meals, drink receptions, activities unless specified and entertainment. Beverages are charged as extra, unless stated within the programme. Both Christmas and New Year programmes offer guests the opportunity to meet and socialise with other guests. For this reason, meals may be taken at larger tables unless specified otherwise.

For all reservations over the Festive Period, a non-refundable 25% deposit is required at the time of reservation. Remaining balances must be received by 1 December 2011. We regret that specific rooms cannot be guaranteed. Single rooms and rates are available on request.

Dogs are always welcome at the Old Swan & Minster Mill. Reservations must be made in advance as only some rooms are dog-friendly. Dog rate £20 per night.

New Year Celebrations at The Old Swan and Minster Mill 2011/12

PREAMBLE Friday 30 December
Arrive at leisure and after settling into your room, enjoy an amble around the river walk followed by Afternoon Tea and a Wine Tasting. In the early evening, join fellow guests for a Champagne Reception followed by a four course dinner in the Old Swan.

NEW YEAR'S EVE Saturday 31 December
After a hearty full English breakfast, depart for a morning River Windrush Amble (not for the faint-hearted) or perhaps a short drive to the ancient and celebrated market town of Burford. Spa treatments are available for those wishing to just relax or head out to Bicester Village for its discounted designer shopping outlets. Siestas! A sparkling evening will be celebrated with a Champagne Reception followed by a gastronomic dinner honouring the very best of local-sourced ingredients. Dance the night away in style and mark the New Year with time-honoured custom!

NEW YEAR'S DAY Sunday 1 January 2012
Late Fizzy brunch from 8am – 11am Perhaps a visit to Cheltenham Horse Racing – the home of British jump racing and a fun and traditional way to spend New Year’s Day with the first race at 1230 and the last at 1555. Tickets can be pre-arranged at a supplement for the Club/ Tattersalls Enclosure. Alternatively, stay close and enjoy 65 acres of stunning countryside, interesting walks and other outdoor activities. Dinner will be a heraldic buffet.
