AA Three Star/One Rosette Restaurant
The
White House Hotel enjoys a beautiful location beside the harbour
on Herm Island, offering spectacular sea views and set within
Britain in Bloom Gold award-winning gardens. There are a variety
of delightful bedrooms, including the luxurious Crow's Nest Suite,
Harbour Cottage with its own garden and family accommodation with
separate bedrooms for the children, but you won't find televisions,
clocks or telephones, as somehow they don't seem appropriate on
Herm.
The
hotel encourages guests to
unwind. You could have tea served by the pool in the garden, play
a game of croquet or tennis, enjoy an aperitif in the Monk's Bar
or choose one of the many sofas in a cosy lounge and curl up in
front of the fire with a coffee and a good book.
The
award-winning Restaurant is renowned for its delicious food,
reasonably priced wine list, and beautiful views across the gardens
and sea towards the island of Guernsey. A four-course dinner with
coffee is included each evening, often featuring fresh seafood,
and service is friendly and efficient. Children are very welcome,
with a popular high tea for junior diners and a baby-listening
service.
The
flower-filled gardens provide a solar-heated swimming pool,
croquet lawn and a tennis court, while pleasant lawns offer
plenty of space for relaxing in the warm summer months. Belvoir
beach is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel, where a private
grassy area overlooking the beach is available for hotel guests.
Yacht, motor boat and fishing charters can be arranged by the
hotel, and regular boat services operate to the islands of Sark
and Guernsey for day excursions. The White House Hotel is an ideal
choice for a family holiday and many guests return year on year,
perhaps the finest accolade for any hotel.
Special
offers and wine
evenings/weekends are also available throughout the year.
