Superb
location overlooking St Ives Bay
Within a few minutes' walk of St Ives town
Family-friendly ~ Indoor and outdoor heated pools
The Porthminster Hotel perches directly above the beach, overlooking
the clear waters of St Ives Bay and the famous Godrevy Lighthouse
(immortalised by novelist Virginia Woolf). Each of the 43 bedrooms
and suites is unique and individually furnished, with en-suite
facilities, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, colour TV and tea/coffee
making facilities. Most have ocean views and several rooms feature
luxurious extras like large private balconies, double-spa baths
and four poster beds. Families are extremely welcome
with family accommodation suites incorporating adjoining bedrooms
for children, with twin beds or bunk beds for children. Children
aged up to five years old go free, and children aged between six
and eleven are half the adult rate.
With
breathtaking, ever-changing views across Porthminster beach and
St Ives Bay, dining in the hotel's light and spacious restaurant
is an experience not to be missed. From freshly caught fish and
shellfish to high quality vegetables and meats, food is prepared
using seasonal ingredients sourced from local suppliers wherever
possible. Leisure facilities include an indoor pool, gym, spa,
heated outdoor pool (1st June–6th September) and tennis courts.
The hotel also offers a sauna and solarium, with wireless broadband
internet access available in the lounge, plus two computers with
broadband access available for guests’ use.
The
Porthminster hotel provides the perfect base from which to
explore St Ives – one of Cornwall’s oldest and best-known holiday
towns – as well as the spectacular scenery and coastline surrounding
it. With its unspoilt fishing harbour and maze of traditional white
cottages, magnificent golden beaches and famously clear light, St
Ives has inspired generations of artists, writers and poets for
over a century. Warmed by the nearby Gulf Stream, this region’s
climate is the mildest in the UK, making it ideal for breaks both
in and out of season. Often likened to a Mediterranean fishing village,
sub-tropical plants and towering palm trees flourish here, and in
summer the streets are swathed in colour as the town’s flower displays
burst into bloom. Special offers are often available - please check
