Historic
and charming country house hotel
Michelin
star ~ AA Three Rosettes Restaurant
Beautiful
gardens ~ Health and Beauty Spa
Situated
in four acres of beautiful gardens, The Bath Priory Hotel and
Restaurant is a charming and elegant country house hotel offering
a Michelin restaurant and Health and Beauty Spa. One of Bath's
finest examples of Gothic architecture, the house was originally
built as a private residence on land once owned by the Priory
of Bath Abbey in 1835. Today, fresh flowers, fine paintings, log
fires and chandeliers create a warm and welcoming ambience throughout
the public rooms.
For many guests, the highlight is the excellent food, prepared
by Executive Head Chef, Chris Horridge and served in the light
and elegant restaurant overlooking the gardens. The three-course
daily changing menu features the freshest produce, straight from
the hotel's own vegetable, fruit and herb garden.
The
hotel offers 27 bedrooms and 4 suites, all of which are luxurious
and en-suite. Some rooms look over the front of the house while
others enjoy stunning views over the south facing landscaped gardens.
Each room has been individually designed and is named after a
flower. Carnation has fantastic views over the garden, a dressing
room and a four poster bed, while Azalea can be found at the top
of a spiral staircase. In the Heather and Lilac rooms there is
a small balcony that overlooks the gardens and beautiful marble
bathrooms.
The
Garden Spa provides an indoor Roman-style pool, Jacuzzi, steam
room, sauna, solarium and fully-equipped gym, while a wide range
of pampering health and beauty treatments is available in the
Beauty Retreat. There is also a lovely outdoor pool in the summer
months.
If
you find time to leave the hotel, the centre of Georgian Bath
is only 15 minutes' walk across the park, giving easy access to
the world famous Roman Baths, historic attractions, antique shops,
and museums. Highly recommended for a luxurious short-break in
this beautiful city.
